What is Kambo?

It is the secretion of the Arboreal Frog (Giant Green Monkey Tree Frog ) scientifically known as Phyllomedusa Bicolor from the Northwest Amazon (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, French Guiana, Suriname and Venezuela.)


Legend says it was firstly used by a Brazilian Pajé : Kampu, from who it took its name. During the effect of sacred plant remedy he received information regarding the use and effects of Kambo, which he applied to restore his sick

Amazonian Tribes have been using this Bio-peptide cocktail secretion to cure themselves from different conditions : To cleanse, strengthen and energize the minds and bodies of the hunters (Magic Hunt), to clear Panema (Depression), Snake bites, Malaria and Yellow Fever.
Tribes have also used Kambo for fertility reasons, for behavioral correction and to attract own partner. The Kaxinawa, Amahuaca, Katukina, Kulina, Yawanawá, Matses, Marubo, Mayoruna and more use Kambo.

KAMBO is received on an empty stomach ( Minimum 8 Hours of Fastening).
Water assumption 2 liters assumed in 15 minutes before Kambo is applied. During process 1 more liter is needed to facilitate purging.

Post treatment

There are also cases in which it is possible to take Kambo but taking into account some precautions

  • Breastfeeding (after 6 months, not nursing in the following 24 hrs)
  • Slimming or Sleeping supplements (S.I.G)
  • Drug and Alcohol intake must be suspended before and after (Substance Interaction Guidelines)
  • Fasting (stop 7 days before Kambo)
  • Enema and Liver cleanse (interrupt 3 days before Kambo)
  • Esophagus rupture (precautions)

  • Neck injury
  • Reflux
  • Smoking history
  • Autoimmune illnesses under immunosuppressants (S.I.G)
